SENIGALLIA

Many people know Senigallia thanks to Fred Bongusto and his famous Italian song "Una Rotonda sul mare" but Senigallia is more than a summer destination: the striking Rotunda, famous as one of the most beautiful piers in Italy, Senigallia has also a lovely coastline made of soft and thin yellow sand, ideal for child and families, that’s why the city earned the name of "Velvet Beach".

From the sparkling waterfront, crowded with restaurants, clubs and places where Senigallia "movida" usually goes, you can easily reach the historic city centre, full of charm and places that tell about the glorious past of town: Roman times, the ruins of which can be visit through a guided tour under the foundations of the Teatro La Fenice, we travel through history to arrive at the present time following the magnificent story of the Della Rovere ancient ducal family, whose emblem is the imposing fortress Rovere, one of the masterpieces of the Italian military Renaissance.

Senigallia has always been a crossroads of cultures and knowledge, thanks to its strong mercantile role that recurs every year in the usual appointment with the traditional St. Augustine fair (now in its 550th edition) which extends along the picturesque setting of Portici Ercolani, place of trade and commercial activities since the end of 1400.

History, culture, art and events: all summer big and small events animate evenings in Senigallia, from the most important and consolidated as the Music Festival and the Summer Jamboree to the less known, but always interesting as jazz nights or folk events.
